Vellum

Vellum asked us to create a brand identity and website for their new home furnishings company. Vellum puts a modern spin on classic European decorative accessories and tableware and they needed a brand identity that matched their approach. For their new trade mark we created a design that's modern and fashionable but still has a contemporary element that allows it to work in a number of marketing environments.

Web Design

We created a logo built around the theme of transparency that plays off of the Vellum name but still retains a familiar, modern typeface often associated with high fashion. The design works on their signature brown and easily reverses out to white for letterhead and collateral materials. The flexibility of the logo allows it to work both as a name and as a mark. This allows Vellum to set the right tone for their marketing materials as they move back and forth from high-end design magazines to traditional fashion and lifestyle publications.

The new logo scales easily from very large applications like wall advertisements and print materials to very small applications like sales tags and product branding. It even becomes a framing device for product images in advertisements and brochures.
