TimeSlips

www.timeslips.org

TimeSlips is an intergenerational storytelling project that addresses the creativity of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Over the past 10 years we’ve created three versions of their website, developed their logo and identity, created collateral for their outreach models and designed four training manuals that teach their storytelling process. We continue to be inspired by the work that TimeSlips does to promote creativity and aging.

Describing a Unique Storytelling Process
TimeSlips facilitators gather people suffering from dementia in a circle and asks each person to respond to images by making up stories about what they see. For these individuals this offers a unique way to access parts of their identity that have begun to vanish due to the onset of Alzheimer’s and related dementia. The stories that come out of these workshops are rich, heartfelt and often humorous.

We work with the TimeSlips team, which includes photographers, visual artists and a director who is also a playwright, by letting the content of the storytelling process inform everything we design. Our latest version of the TimeSlips site achieves this with a clean and simple interface that draws attention to the beautiful images and unique stories that each workshop generates. The new site also acts as a community organizing tool that brings TimeSlips facilitators around the country to one destination where they can learn about recent news, sign up for upcoming trainings and download workshop resources.
